Municipality located at an altitude above sea level of 206 metre, It has an extension of 26,6 Km2 y tiene una población aproximadamente de 1.448 inhabitants.
The municipality is surrounded by elevations such as the "Sierra del Balconcillo" and the "Cerro del Aguila". From north to south of the municipality runs the Guadalcacín reservoir, occupying the valley of the ancient Majaceite River. Predomina el monte bajo con variedad de «retamas y jaras», así como «acebuches, quejigos y encinas».
