Municipality located at an altitude above sea level of 793 metre, It has an extension of 69,4 Km2 y tiene una población aproximadamente de 720 inhabitants.
It is located in the northwest of the province of Cádiz. Bordered to the north by Grazalema, to the south with Ubrique, to the east with Villaluenga del Rosario and to the west with El Bosque. All its term is included in the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park, except for the westernmost part that belongs to the Alcornocales.
