Alcalá del Valle

    It is necessary to mention five main festivities in the locality: First of all, Holy Week stands out, of great spectacularity and with important deployment of brotherhoods, the Pilgrimage of the Virgen del Valle, the Pilgrimage of San Isidro Labrador. Festivals and fairs of the patron saint of the town, San Roque and finally, in September the festivity of the patron saint of Alcalá del Valle is celebrated, the Virgin of the Valley.

 

Algar

    There are several festivals that are very celebrated in this town. Carnival festivities open the festive year, that continues with an event of singular characteristics, the car climb to Algar, for later, already in spring, celebrate the spring fair, whose origin is a livestock fair. The first Sunday of June is celebrated the pilgrimage of San Nicolás. The festive cycle closes on days 8, 9 And 10 of September with the festivities of Our Lady of Guadalupe, patron saint of Algar.

 

Algodonales

    Up to six are the parties that must be cited in the town: the year begins with the celebration of carnivals; of special importance is the celebration of Habeas; already in the month of May the Pilgrimage of the Virgen de la Sierra is celebrated; the 16 of August the Virgen del Carmen (in the village of La Muela, in July the fair of Santiago and Santa Ana, and the 7 of October the feast in honor of the Virgin of the Rosary).

 

Border Arches

    Holy Week is the main festival of Arcos de la Frontera, being considered one of the most important in Andalusia. Culminates with the feast of Easter Sunday, in which the so-called bull of the hallelujah is run. Carnivals are also very celebrated and of great prestige. Other festive dates worth mentioning are: evening of Mary Help of Christians (at the end of May), Feast of Corpus Christi, Feast of Our Lady of the Snows (patron saint of the town on 5 August), and the San Miguel fair, locality pattern, and that is celebrated at the end of September constituting the largest fair whose antecedent was a livestock fair.

 

Benaocaz

    The year begins in Benaocaz with the feast of San Blas, later Holy Week is celebrated. The third date is that of the 5 June, in which in which in honor of the patron, St. Stephen's, the Pilgrimage is celebrated. At last, of the 12 to the 15 of August the Fair and release of the rope bull is celebrated.

 

Bornos

    The main festival is that of the carnivals, although Holy Week is celebrated with great intensity around the 15 of May the pilgrimage of San Isidro is celebrated in the Coto de Bornos. The first Sunday of July is celebrated the feast of San Laureano, bornos pattern. The Bornos Coto Fair is held in August, in September the Bornos fair, and on the first Sunday of October the procession of the Virgin of the Rosary, patron saint of the town.

 

The Forest

    The three parties, apart from conventional ones, most celebrated in El Bosque are: Festivities of San Antonio on 13 June, with bullfighting celebrations and pilgrimage; the Evening of San Juan, the 23 June, and the 15 of August the feast of Mary Help of Christians.

 

Hold on

    Easter stands out. Of the 29 from April to 1 of May the fair of the cross of May is celebrated. On the second Sunday of this month the pilgrimage to the place El Mármol is celebrated. The 14 of September the patron saint festivities are celebrated (Christ of Antigua).

 

The Gastor

    There are four most celebrated festivals in the town: Pilgrimage to the Vega del Valle (first Sunday in May), Corpus Christi (of great importance and color), Fairs and festivals in August, and the Feast of the Virgin of the Rosary, patron saint of the town (7 October).

Grazalema

    Three are the most important dates in terms of the festive calendar of Grazalema: The festivities of Carmen celebrated in mid-July, Moors and Christians festivities in Benamahoma, and the August Fairs.

 

Olvera

    There are several parties that deserve to be reviewed in this summary. Holy Week is celebrated in Olvera with great spectacularity with a great display of brotherhoods. The second Monday, after Easter, is celebrated on Quasimodo Monday, with a popular pilgrimage in the sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de los Remedios. With great splendor Corpus Christi is celebrated. The 15 of August is celebrated the feast of the patron saint of Olvera, Our Lady of Remedies with a visit to the sanctuary. Of the 28 to the 31, the festivities of San Agustín are celebrated. The days 17, 18 And 19 the livestock fair is celebrated. The celebration of carnival has been gaining increasing importance in recent years.

 

King's Meadow

    The following festivities in the town deserve to be marked; the 15 of May the pilgrimage of San Isidro is celebrated, and 14 to the 18 of July the evening of the Virgen del Carmen.

 

Puerto Serrano

    There are varied festivals that are celebrated in the town among which stand out: 1 January, Spirits bull; February – March, carnival festivities; April, Easter, Corpus Christi; May, Pilgrimage tribute to the elderly; 22 July, Pilgrimage in honor of Santa María Magdalena (patron saint of the town); mid-August, fair. We also highlight the celebration of the end of the year in the town hall square.

 

Setenil de las Bodegas

    The festivity of the patron saint, San Sebastian ranks first in chronological order; later the carnivals are celebrated; Holy Week stands out in this town for the great display of brotherhoods; the 15 of May the Pilgrimage is celebrated in honor of San Isidro Labrador; then The Corpus, colorful celebration. Later the festivity of the Virgen del Carmen is celebrated, patron saint of the town, and finally, in mid-August the typical fairs and festivals of this month stand out.

 

Torre Alháquime

    Five main dates can be highlighted in terms of the most important festivities in the town. Carnival, of great color and prestige in the area, Holy Week, The Corpus. The Pilgrimage of San Juan, the 24 June, and in mid-August the patron saint festivities of San Roque.

 

Ubrique

    The patron saint of the locality, San Sebastian, begins the most celebrated festive dates. In February, the carnival is very celebrated in which the groups put a very characteristic note of color. Already in spring the day of the candles is celebrated, the pilgrimage of San Isidro and the day of the petaquero. In the month of September, the day 7, the night of the fires is celebrated, the next day the patron saint is celebrated, the Virgin of the Remedies, and already in the middle of the fair.

 

Villaluenga del Rosario

    Four festivities of great repercussion in the locality can be cited: Pilgrimage of the Divine Shepherdess, Feast of San Roque (with the release of the rope bull), Major festivals (with bullfighting shows) and Evening of the Virgin of the Rosary (with popular food and becerrada).

 

Villamartín

    Five dates indicate the most celebrated festivities in the town, namely: Easter, Spring Fair on 15 May, Festivities of Santa Ana, patron saint of Villamartín del 24 to the 28 July, Pilgrimage of Our Lady of the Mountains, and the San Mateo fair, of livestock origin.

 

Zahara de la Sierra

    The most important festivals of those celebrated in Zahara are: Colorful Corpus Christi Festivities, Pilgrimage of San Juan (in Arroyomolinos), August Fair and Festivities of San Simón and San Judas, where the Christian conquest of Zahara is celebrated.
